Grants for Farms

Farming is hard work. I know. I started and operated an organic chicken farm for 16 years. There is grant money out there to help farmers grow and succeed. Unfortunately, the applications are time consuming and challenging to complete.

I’m kind of an oddity. I like the detailed paperwork. As a farmer, I accessed close to $1M in grant money for my small family farm. Watching my friends and neighbors struggle to continue doing what they loved, I realized that what I loved was helping them by writing grant application. Mutant, I know. I like to tell people that I am bi-lingual. I speak both farmer and “federalese”.

My gifting is helping translate your passion for farming into language that grant reviewers can understand and appreciate. In the past few years, I have helped farmers and food related non-profits by helping them access more than $10 million in state, federal and private grant money.

This program brings millions of dollars a year directly into the hands of those who need it the most: the farmers who are producing and directly selling food. My success rate for writing applications for this grant is exceptionally high and for the past five years, I have been involved in more than 67% of the award money granted to farmers in Washington and have also worked with farmers in Idaho, Oregon and Hawaii.

Every year, I work directly with a small number of farmers to apply for this program. It is never too early to begin working on an application!
